My Camper Friend
The Idea Behind This Site
Most camping and RV advice is either a brand trying to sell you something or a forum thread you have to read for an hour to find the one useful reply. mycamperfriend.com tries to be the shortcut: clear guidance on choosing a rig, packing the right gear, planning a trip that doesn't blow the budget, and the maintenance jobs that keep a camper on the road.
To be upfront about how this works — we're a curation site, not full-time overlanders writing from the road. The guidance here is aggregated from RV manufacturer specifications, the safety standards that govern propane and RV systems (RVIA, NFPA 1192), gear-maker documentation, and active communities like r/GoRVing and the iRV2 forums. We bring it together and make it readable; we don't claim to have personally tested every awning and water pump.
Anything touching propane, towing weights, or electrical hookups is a safety matter. Follow your vehicle's and appliance's official manuals, and when in doubt, have it checked by a qualified RV technician.
